About

Bearmoon Comics is actually a two-man-band, and the culmination of nearly a lifetime of dreams and dedication to the comic book genre of creative fiction. This project represents ideas, concepts, and characters that have been around (at least privately) for the better part of 20 years–and to be able, at long last to share these stories and characters here on the web, and very soon also in print is very much the realization of a dream I have held for almost as long. Our goal is to provide entertainment–grand cosmic adventures as well as more human stories–but with a cast of heroes and villains, warriors and rogues that more accurately represents the people and the world around us all. We hope you enjoy this, the first of hopefully many endeavors here at Bearmoon Comics.

Ernesto has been a comic fan, collector, and amateur comic artist and writer for over 25 years. His lifelong interest in mythology from across the world, in particular that of Ancient Greece helped spark the fires of creativity which brought life to the characters and ideas in The Hammer of Argus.

Along the way an entire multiverse of ideas and characters had been developed–so when he decided to finally self-publish his own comic, it was a difficult to decision to choose which of these would, once and for all see the light of publishing.

A chance conversation with friend Chris Nelson, and a brainstorm session later brought Argus, Brutus, and their story once again, to the fore.

“After that initial conversation, the ideas just seemed to flow. Several blocks to the story that has been impeding the creative process were eliminated, and everything just started to come into place.”

“I find the collaborative process very freeing, things can happen fast when the synergy is good. And with Chris the synergy is top flight.”

Chris R. Nelson is an amateur writer from Vancouver, B.C. Canada returning to comic books from a 20 year hiatus. At Ernesto’s encouragement, he decided to apply his passion for writing to Hammer of Argus.

An avid fan of Fantasy, Horror and Science Fiction, he was eager to assist with writing and co-plotting the series, steeped in mythology and legend.

Chris uses both Ernesto’s artwork, his love of cartoons, comic books and the musical works of Jerry Goldsmith, John Williams and others to help fuel his imagination. “I write to music,” Chris says. “It helps me visualize what I am writing about.”

“I’ve always enjoyed Greek and Roman Mythology. I’m also a big fan of the Ray Harryhousen movies like Clash of the Titans and Jason and the Argonauts. Having the chance to contribute to a project like this is a fantastic opportunity.”
