Helmet of Invisibility and Scepter of Hades.  The helmet is magical, as it bestowed complete invisibility upon the wearer (making him indiscernable even to gods).  Conversely it also allows the wearer to see mystically hidden or “invisible” items.  It also allows limited empathic and telepathic control, by allowing the wearer to know and project illusions of an opponents greatest fears into their minds–these illusions are completely lifelike to the person experiencing them–involving all five senses.  Only those with a strong will have a chance of withstanding and seeing past these illusions.

The scepter has the power to rend the earth, and discharge destructive and death inducing energies.  It also has the power to summon the spirit shades of dead people and creatures which populate Hades and control them.

Kottus takes possession of the Helmet and the Scepter when he kills Hades, at the same time that the Olympians are being slain.
