The Jewel of Amariel is a faerie artifact and heirloom that was given to Brutus by his aunt Namarienne that belonged to his mother, the fae princess Amariel who died during his childbirth.

Brutus hides it with his possessions left in his father’s fortress. It was left unmolested by the trolls under his father’s rule because of a solar light “curse” that would turn any trolls who attempted to enter his room to stone.

The gem allows transit to and through the Faerie Realms.  Since time and space flow differently between Earth and Faedom, a user of the gem can use it to transit from one location to another on earth near instantaneously.
